Effect of Chloro Choline Chloride under different plant densities on yield and yield components of corn (Zea mays cv. SC 704) under drought stress

In order to study the effect of Chloro Choline Chloride in different plant densities on yield and yield component of corn Zea mays cv. SC 704 under water stress and normal irrigation, an experiment was conducted by adopting a split split plot in Randomize Complete Block Design in Karaj (Mahdasht) in 2004. On the basis of importance, irrigation factors were placed under two levels of water stress and normal irrigation in main plot, plant density factor in three levels (80000, 100000, 120000 plant/ha) in sub plot and different concentration of CCC at three levels (control, 700 ppm, and 1400) in subsub plots. The CCC and its interaction with irrigation on number of seeds per row and number of rows per ear was significant. The 1400 ppm CCC treatments under water stress with a yield of 24.81 N seeds/ ear was significantly different in comparison to the control (21.17 N seed/ear ). The CCC treatment of 1400 ppm under water stress yielded 420 g/m2 compared to that of control(379 g/m2). Interaction of high plant density( 120000 ha) with high concentration of CCC(1400 ppm) caused an increase in the grain yield in treated plots.
