Academic Senate is the peak body for advising the university council and the vice-chancellor
on academic matters and broad issues. Senate draws its members from faculty, students,
alumni and senior administration as well as representatives of the board of governors.
In this article, we introduce the history of university senate, its rules and functions.
This article will help the perception of significant and valuable roles of faculty members
and students in the academic excellence of the university.
