Role Of Professional Sport On Muslim Women Sport Development

we can refer to lack of opportunity or the prohibition for them to engage in sport activities in no later than recent times, Irrational cultural beliefs in sociery, media discrimination in covering men and women sports, disinclination of sponsors in support for women sports, and etc. At the other hand and in comparison to the past, women sports had a great development. There are some indications of development, among them we can refer to the US approval of antidiscrimination rule in education programs (title IX), Increase in the number of decision maker women in sport organization of different countries, Increase in the allocated budget for women sports, and womenʹs superiority in some sport disciplines. With regard to importance of Iranian women sport from physical, spiritual, social and political aspect, and underdevelopment of sport in this important group in society, and organizing the 4th women Islamic Games at September 2005 at Tehran, this research conducted to determine the roles of professional sport in development of Muslim womenʹs sport from viewpoints of managers, coaches and athletes participating in this Garnes. The methodology of this research is descriptive - analytical and its tool was questionnaire. 50 active women sport manager in physical education organization. sport federation, universities, education organization, and sport clubs; 35 coaches and 65 athletes participated in 4th Women Islamic Games were selected as statistical sample. The data were analyzed by using Freedman statistical Test. Finding of this research showed that role of professional sport in increase the number of Muslim women coaches. rolc of professional sport in encouraging Muslim women to engage in elite sport, and role of professional sport in strengthen friendship between Islamic countries, are of important effects of professional sport on Muslim women sport development from sample viewpoints. According to results of this research, it seems that Muslim women sport development have multiple dimensions and all of them should develop simultaneously and in parallel to each other. In addition, because of the many functions that professionalization of women sport has from different aspects; individuals who are in charge of cultural, political, social, sport, and health affairs of society can consider the women professional sport development as a tool to achieve their organizational goals
