The process of changinf Maghaamaat up to eight century (14ʹ century A.D.)

"Haal" and "Maghaam" are two basic terms in Sufism, but there has not been a unified definition of these two terms; and each writer has had his own interpretation of the terms. It was in fourth century that Abu Nasr-e Sarraaj presented a rather exact definition of these two terms in his Alloma " but it was not welcome by the public, mostly Abutaaleb Makki and Kalaabaadi. Other writers considered other criteria in their definitions. The writer of this article has tried to show the process of changing these definitions in Sufism.
