چكيده لاتين :
The word Aaz (greed) in modem Persian language, called Aazi or Aazay in
Avestaa and Aaz in Pahlavi. All these mean: greed, strong desire, lust and it
is also the name of a vicious demon which in Zorvaani and Zoroastrian
mythology is considered as the most powerful figure and the right hand of
the Devil in the battle with Ahura Mazdaa. Bondahesh, Minoo-ye-Kherad
and Zoroastrian teachings, all emphasize on insatiableness, deception and
despotic nature of Aaz, It opposes wisdom; strengthens by anger, lying,
deception, insanity and other negative characteristics of human beings; and
weakens by goodness, honesty, righteousness and wisdom. Aaz in
Shahnaame, is a cruel demon, the root of badness, the cause of some battles
and a motivation for many killings. Based on mythological beliefs and
religious texts, Ferdowsi has presented various aspects of Aaz in the stories
of Shahnaame. The writers ofthis article have divided the pivots of Aaz into
five parts: power, despotism, jealousy, lust and avarice. They then study
these parts and present a clear analysis of all these divisions.
