چكيده لاتين
Islam or Islamic civilization is one of the factors irrefutably influential on tile formation
of new Western civilization especially on its philosophical, scientific and industrial
aspects. The basic commonalities existing between three Abrahamic religions namely
Judaism, Christianity and Islam are among the essential backgrounds of these
influences. Similarly common philosophical background between Islam and the West
and presence of Greek and Monotheistic principles excerpted from divine religions in
Islamic philosophy are another ground for the approximation of these two civilizations.
These common backgrounds paved the ground for the influence of Islamic culture and
civilization on medieval West. It was through these channels that the philosophical,
theological and scientific thoughts of the world of Islam were introduced to the
Medieval West causing tremendous developments therein. Many Western scholars were
educated under Muslim scholars in Muslim lands. Muslims and Christians were
intermingled. Muslim works were translated from Arabic to Latin. These and other
factors including trade and crusade wars were different channels through which Islamic
science and culture were introduced to the West deeply influencing it.
