Construction of institutional reality in John Searle

Based on one consideration, existing realities can be divided into natural and social. Natural realities constitute things such as mountain, river etc. that arc independent of us while social realities especially institutional realities depend on our collective internationality. Institutional realities such as money, marriage etc. require human institutions such as the institutions of ownership and marriage. To analyze logical structure of these institutions. the way they are formed and their relation with natural realities are among the most important subjects of philosophy of social sciences. Using an analytical methodology, John Searle, a contemporary philosopher of mind and language has sought to address these questions in a notably innovative way. According to him ʹlanguageʹ is a basic social institution, for it is the presupposition of all other institutions and without it no other institution can be actualized. This is Searleʹs basis of new analysis of the structure of social institutions.
