A survey on the relationship of metacognition and components its with avoidant and obsessive personalities in the high school students

The aim of the present study was to survey on the relationship of metacognition and components its with avoidant and obsessive personalities in the high school students. The research sample consisted 252 subjects were selected from among the students of Meshkin City through a random sampling method. Together the data Meta-cognition Questionnaire and Millon Clinical Multiaxial Inventory were used. Data was analyzed using Pearson correlation coefficient and regression analyses. The results of Pearson correlation cofficint showed that 111eI3cognition are related to obsessive (r = 0.49) and avoidant (r = 0.38) oil, Assistant personalities. The result of multiple regression showed that meta-cognitive components explained 22 percent of variance of obsessive personality, and 16 percent of variance of avoidant personality. The results indicated that high levels of meta-cognition increases obsessive and avoidant inefficient personalities
