Effect of [0\v spacing on grain yield and variation j n growth indices of rapeseed (Brassicu napus L.) cultivars as second crop following rice was investigated in a paddy fields at Rice Research Institute of Iran (Rasht]. in 2003-2004 and 2004-2005 growing seasons. The experiment was conducted as a split plot in randomized complete block design with four replications. The main plots consisted of four rapeseed cultivars: Hyola308, RGS003, PF7U45/91(Sarigol) and Ilyola401 and the sub-plots were three row spacing: 20, 25 and 3U em at constant plant densities (40 pluut/m"}. Results showed rhat PF7045/91 (Sarigol ) ranked the first in relative growth rate (4.29 gig.IUGDD). crop growth rate (l).25g/m~.IOGDD), leaf mea index (1.89) and net assimilation rate (1 5:ʹ:9 ~/m2.1 UGDD), grains yield(2U43 kg/hal and oil content (34.19%.) was significantly different with the other cultivars. HyobJOH ranked the last among: cukivars. Row spacing of 20 em ranked the first in relative growth rate (4.2H g/g.lOGDD), crop growth rate (6.98 g/m1.IUGDD), leaf area index (1.706), net assimilation rate (IU.25 g/m1.10GDD), grains yield (1777 kg/hal and oil content (3J.35%) and were significantly different from other row spacings in LAI and NAR indices. Results also showed that PF7045/91 (Sarigol) ranked the first in light interception (LJ%) and HyolaJU8 ranked the last (75.5% and 615%, respectively). Row spacing of 20 em ranked the first in light interception (6HS%). Therefore, PF7045/91 (Sarigol) ranked the first in relative growth rare. crop growth rate, leaf area index. and net assimilation rate, grains yield. oil content and light interception.
