The Relationship between Age, Weight, BMI, Postmenopausal Age and Bone Mineral Density in Post Menopause Women

Introduction: Osteoporosis is a multifactorial disease and severa! factors are involved in development and progression of the disease. The aim of this study was to increase our understanding of the relation between age, weight, BM!. postmenopausal age and bone mineral density in post menopause women. Method.s : 240 Azarbaijani women aged 50-70 years having inclusion criteria were recruited. Bone mineral density (HMO) of lumbar spine (LS), femur neck (FN) and total hip were measured. Based on BMO, all subjects were divided into 3 groups; osteoporotic, osteopenic and normal. Personal eharacteristics of the individuals were obtained and weights and heights were measured.
