The determination of praziquantel (droncit) bathing effective dose tor Ireating of diplostomiasis in rainbow trout

This study was done for 25 days from 11 March, 2002 to 9 April. 2002 on 95 rainbow trout (Oncorhynch us mykiss) for finding the treatmen t dosage of praziquantel (droneit): It was showed that all of the fish were infected by di plostorni as is (100%). The average of the parasite s after cal culati ng in the eyes of grower fish and brood stock fish were 36 .5 and / 6.1 I respectively. This investigations showed that the minimum dosage for treatment against diplostomiasis by praziquantel was 1 mgil it for 24 hours. in dipp ing bath, This dosage and treatment time are the reasons of all parasites death. It is also poss ible to usc the dosages of 2 mg/lit /24 hours and 10 mg/l it/24hours for treatment. The result s of the present investigat ion showed that the dosage of 100 mg/l it 1 h and highe r can cause many disorders and also the death of the fish. The effective dose of treated fi sh with the dosages of 10 mg/lit /6h and 100 mgflit /l h showed that the results were 89.15 and l) 1.1 I pcr sent. So It is clear that the t ime of conta ct between drug and parasite is directly effec tive in treating
