Attitude and Need - assessment of Secondary Schools Students for Physical Education Courses in Malayer city

This research studies the different attitudes and needs (~f secondary SLʹ!JOO! students toward physical education course held in Mal aver city during 13X3-X-I-, 385 students (192 girls and 193 boys) were chosen hy classical - systematic random sampling. in order to collect the data, a researcher - made questionnaire and a face validity questionnaire were used after confirmation offaculty members. During a preliminary study, the reliability coefficient of the questionnaires were calculated following the infernal consistency evaluation 0/ questions using Cronbactr Alpha (attitude assessment 0.7 and need assessment (J.8). In order to analyze the dura. in addition to descriptive statistics indexes, Mann - whitney statistical test was used and the analysis ofthe data was performed using SPSS program. The results indicate that the attitudes ofstudents toward sportive possibilities and equipment in schools, the curriculums, reaching methods and evaluation methods are at good level (X1% totally}. Also, the results showed thatfor studentsʹ needsfor sportive possibilities and equipment, the curriculums are at high level (56% totally). Furthermore. ʹhe comparison between girlsʹ attitudes and boysʹ attitudes toward sportive possibilities and equipment and toward evaluation method ofphysical education courses doesnʹt show a significant difference. But the girlsʹ attitudes toward curriculums. instructional materials and teaching methods are generally more positive than thai of the boys (p<0.05).
