The Effect of Computer Games on Arousal of Adolescent Boys

Computer games have become a popular pastime among children and adolescents. Current study includes a report of the effect of these games on arousal. Participants were 50 adolescent boys with age range 15-19, first measured variables related to arousal include blood pressure, heart rate, breathing rate and body tempertarue, and then participantsʹ exposure to computer game related to his group during 50 minutes (counter strike for violent group and FIFA 2005 for non - violent group) and immediately after end of game vaiables measured again. Results showed violent games increases arousal significantly contatining systolic and diastolic blood pressure, heart rate and breating rate, but donʹt increases significantly body temperature. Whereas non - violent games donʹt increases significantly arousal.
