Study the Effect of Sowing Pattern, Row Spacing and Plant Distance on Yield, Yield Components, Oil and some Morphological Characters of Safflower in Double Cropping in Sanandaj region

In order to study the effect of sowing pattern, row spacing and plant distance on yield, yield components, oil and some morphological characters of safflower in double cropping, an experiment was conducted in 2004-2005 growing season in Sanandaj region. Experiment design was strip plot as complete block base with 3 replication. The treatments included: Sowing Pattern (one row, two rows), Row spacing (50cm, 60cm) and plant distance (5cm and 10cm). Results of ANOVA Analysis showed that only height plant not affected by treatment. Other treatments showed significant differences in the % 1 and %5 levels. According to the results, plant distance had the most effects on the seed yield, biological yield, flower yield and oil yield. The sowing pattern and row spacing had the most effects on these characters. The highest seed yield, biological yield, flower yield and oil yield was achieved in two rows, 50 cm row spacing and 5cm plant distance treatment as arrangement equal to: 783.63, 7628.24, 156.24 and 249.49 kilograms per hectare. In this study seed yield increased in 2row planting via lrow planting, 50cm row spacing via 60cm row spacing, 5cm plant distance via 10 cm plant distance in arrangement: 15.29, 4.16 and 84.22%. The height of first axillaryʹs stem, number of fertile and unfertile head, number of seed head, 1000 seed weight, harvest index and oil seed percent affected significantly by the treatment. With increasing the density, plant height, height of first axillaryʹs stem and oil percent increased, but number of axillaryʹs stem in plant, number of fertile head in plant, number of seed in head and harvest index decreased
