The Importance and the History of Research concerning the Unequivocal and the Ambiguous Verses

In the present article, first, the importance of the "unequivocal and the ambiguous" in the Qurʹan is dealt with from three perspectives of practical and educational, scientific and theoretical, and the fundamental challenges in tsisir (interpretation); and then, the history of research about it is pointed out. In the course of development of the issue, the most important works on the two fields of verbal and semantic ambiguity (tashabuh) are introduced, and the contemporary works have also been dealt with.
