چكيده لاتين :
Hydrogen sulfide is an important air pollutant and removal of H2S from gas streams is significant due to environmental protection and prevention of corrosion in systems which use biogas. Hydrogen sulfide can be removed by two overall methods that include physical-chemical and biological methods. At high flow rates and low concentrations of H2S, physical-chemical methods associated with high costs are not suitable and under these conditions biological methods will be the best choice for removal. Biological treatments are classified into two sets depend on the type of bacteria used and they consist of bioreactors involving photoautotrophic bacteria and bioreactors involving chcmoautotrophic bacteria.
In bioreactors involving photoautotrophic bacteria, the end product and oxidation step of sulfide depend on light irradiance and sulfide loading. Chlorobium limicola is the most suitable bacteria for sulfide removal and free cell recycle reactor has high potential for this application. Biofiltcrs, biotrickling filters and bioscrubbers have relative importance among bioreactors for H2S removal and involving chemoautotrophic bacteria among with biofiIters, are widely applied.
