The Effects of Faulting Type Moment Magnitude and Site Location on Near-Fault Pulse Characteristics

In this paper strong ground motion in near fault areas are investigated considering heterogeneous slip distribution on the fault plane. Areas oil the fault with large slip in compare with the average slip on the fault are known as asperity. Near-fault ground motions are numerically simulated for infinite media by using finite source model and theoretical Greenʹs function. The effects of faulting type and earthquake magnitude on near-fault pulse characteristics are parametrically examined as well as the effect of site to fault distance.
