THE MIDDLE EAST AND INTERNATIONAL SYSTEM

This article concentratcs on the role and the place of the Middle East in the international system after the cold war. After reviewing different theories and vies on the nature of international system and politics after the cold war, the author considers the rise of a new industrial super bloc, the main development after the end of the cold war. This super block has a unified and definite policy regarding any challenges to the capitalist world system. Any crisis and instability in the Middle East can have considerable effects on the international system, and any challenges raised by countries in the region to the interests of the industrial super bloc face its harmonious stance. By focusing on cases such as Iraq and Afghanistan, the author tests its hypothesis.
