The Principle of Favor (lutf) and Its Theological foundations

Which Divine quality may be relied on when justifying the principle of favour? The question has been of a long life. In this way, using Muslim scholarsʹ thoughts, the author has tried to study the problem. Seeking the main solution, fundamental ideas have been paid attention to firstly and then, when demonstrating and actualizing the problem, theological principles have been focused on. Meanwhile it has been made clear that the criteria for favor lies in Divine qualities. Finally it has been shown that achieved favor (lutfi muhssal) can be justified on the basis of such Divine qualities as justice, wisdom and mercifulness, while individual approximating favor can be argued for only by Divine wisdom and mercifulness. And the study has also criticized the most important argument of the opponents in the end.
