The position of Reason to Faith in The view of Muslim and Christian Theologians

There have been an old disagreement between Muslim and Christian theologians on the essence of faith and its relation to reason, one which has prepared a principle for the sects in the fields of thought and action. A group of Christian theologians along with Muslim Asharites have denied any relation between faith and reason. Another group, however, has known the essence of faith to be reasonable. Most Shiite theologians have necessitated religious faith to be reasonable and considered a topic under the title: the necessity for reasoning (vujubu nazar), in their theological works. The disagreement found in Christianity between religion and reason has originated from a distortion that happened in Christianity, just contrary to Islam that has agreed with a close relation between them. In Islam man has been demanded to reason and think and reasonability has argued deeply for religious faith. It is believed that copying faiths, supported by no reasoning, may not cause man to act faithfully.
