Qazvin province, with an area of 26000 square kilometers, has been situate don the most northern central part of Iran. North and North West of this provice is laid in belt Alborz and south and south west parts in central Iran zone.
The area studied consists of different kind of rocks, which are presumed to belong to paleozoic, mezozoic, cenozoic and quaternary. There are some potentials and indices of Cu,Pb, Zn, Fe and notable reserves of the silica with suitable tenur for different industries. Some orebodies of lateritic bouxite and alonite exist in Qazvin province. Industrial lime in Qom and Lar formations, gypsum in neogen formations of central Iran, industrial soils and kaolinite in paleogen formations in Takestan. Tarom sofla and North Qazvin, coal stone in Shemshak formations and various building stones are among the existing resources and the known non-metal mineral material. One of the most setting for decorative stones in province is volcanic rocks of paleogen. This area may have various metal potentials and resource. In this thesis, each single mine has been studies individually. The results of this study both on active and unactive mines include mineral potentials, geological charactristies, indisate that any type of deposit follows a specific geologic event and formation requires its homogenous resource.
