Studying the Arrival of the Portuguese to the Persian Gulf and its occupation ofHurmoz

There exist hypotheses about the Portuguese arrival to the Persian Gulf and Hurmoz. A number of researchers have discussed their arrival from economic, ideological and religious perspectives. Combining together the two economic and religious outlooks, one could study their arrival in a better setting. The present paper aims at answering how they entered into the Persian Gulf, how khajeh Ata contributed to the first stages of Portugalʹs presence in Hurmoz and finally how Alborkerk occupied the island of Hunnoz in 1507.
