Development in the West and Islam: Consequences and Results

This paper seeks to compare the development in Islamic societies and the West by comparing the consequences of these developments. In western countries, the most prominent consequences of development are: poverty, non-commitment, extermination of human beings, self-oblivion and confusion, desecration and aggression, ruination of the families, the internal contradictions of capitalism, diffusion and increase of the gaps between social classes and the increasing poverty of the lower classes of the society; whereas Islam as the Last religion, not only lays stress on the social and economic justice, eradication of poverty, promoting popular welfare and economic independence, but also proposes practical ways to achieve those goals.
