چكيده لاتين :
This article takes a theoretical approach and searches the religious texts and statements to discuss the question of whether religious statements are meaningful or not. If they are so, do they teach us something or not? This paper aims at proving the issue of meaningfulness and teaching aspect of the religious and Quranic statements; some scholars support this view, while others oppose it. Positivists are among those who oppose it; they regard the possibility of being experienced as the criterion of meaningfulness. According to this view, naturally, the religious statements can not be meaningful. Applying the functionalist method for the language of religion, the symbolic theory and Wittgensteinʹs "language game" theory also negates meaningfulness and teaching aspect of religious statements. Among the supporters of the meaningfulness and teaching aspect of religious statements, Aquinasʹ figurative theory and Platoʹs theory of negation are found. It seems that Mulla Sadraʹs theory of synonymy is acceptable in this regard.
