Revelation and Revelatory Issues in three theologians1 View: Imam Khomeini, Allama Tabatabaie, and Shahid Motahhari

The revelation and the revelatory issues are among subjects not understood truly by some people, perhaps because of its extensive meaning in Quran. While some religious scholars believe that understanding the reality of revelation is beyond the capacity of reason, and speak of the inability of reason in this regard, some others insist on revealing its true nature, wishing to delineate its meaning through any tools such as the imagination, delusion, and senses, and try to explain its nature by comparing it to material phenomena; they have neglected the fact that it is impossible to compare abstract phenomena to material ones. This article is seeking to take a theoretical approach with the aim to present the view of the three theologians (who have focused their efforts on explaining challenging issues) in theological and rational matters, to answer the doubts posed on revelation in a way presented in their thoughts.
