The impact of decisionmaker beliefs on organization structure

An important subject in management and organization theory is organization design appropriate with organization contingencies. In this relation, Itʹs important to design organization with interest of variables that have impact on it. For organization and management scholars, contextual variables is most important variables for organization design; but belief of decision makers also are an important variable in determining strategic model of organization. In this research, relationship of decision makers1 beliefs with choice model of structure is studied. The basic assumption of this research is that decisionmakersʹ beliefs have relationship with structure. The sample of this research includes 40 managers from industry and 38 managers from university. Instrument for gathering information was questionnaire with two section including decisionmaker beliefs and choice model. The result of study showed the relationship between decisionmaker beliefs and choice model for organization. This result also showed the significant difference between these variables in industry and university managers.
