Iranʹs urban plans from provision to reality in execusion Case study: Tabriz comprehensive plan

It is now more than four decades from providing and execution of Iranʹs first comprehensive urban plan. Evaluation of this plan shows that the process of execution has not been successful. Considering the literature review, field study as well as comparing the planʹs documents, it is thought that lack of coordination between the urban planning organizations, the manner of providing and execution, lack of financial sources and necessary experts, have led to the ineffectiveness of the plan. The results of the research show that the studies of the consultant engineers, lack of financial resources and inability of the municipality have led to the lack of success of the plan.
