Pattern of Drug prescription in clinical ward of Motahari and Peimanie Hospital in Khordad 1385

Introduction: The use of drug increases very much in the last decade and according to the variety of prescribed medicines and Drug interaction, have many bad effects on patients. This study was surveyed the Drug interaction and the number of prescribed medicines in different wards of Jahrom hospitals to decrease the bad effects of it. We should inform the physicians and nurses according to the results. Materials and Methods: This is a descriptive cross-sectional study, 4969 prescriptions of diseases who admit in wards of Jahrom hospitals, that on khordad 1385 were surveyed. The chi-square test was used for data analysis. Results: In this research, 4969 prescriptions were surveyed. 668 (13.44%) prescriptions have only one kind of drug and 79(1.59%) prescriptions have more than four drugs. The mean dosage form value was 2.38 items per prescription. The percentage of severe intervention was 0.08 and the moderate was 11.2. In two hospitals 56.63% of patient received Antibiotics, 22.16% NSAIDs and 7.91% Corticosteroids . Conclusion: According to the results the mean dosage form value was 2.38 items that less than civil mean, 3.8 items , and slightly more than 12 developed countries, 2.2 items. To get the satisfied conditions, it is necessary to improve collaboration of the physicians and the pharmacists and to have education programs for the medical students, nurses and physicians to familiarize with drugs and effects and intervention between them by education development centers.
