The Criterion of Meaningfulness and Different Views on it: a Review

"The criterion of meaningfulness" is one of the discussions dealt with on semantics in the field of philosophy, especially the philosophy of religion. The views presented on this point, each in turn, try to explain this issue and delineate the conditions and features with which a word, a phrase, or a sentence may be meaningful; they also try to explain the cases where we can consider a clause as meaningless. In other words, they try to answer the question of what rational criterion can be accepted based on which sentences or individual words are definitely meaningful. This article, with its theoretical approach and documentary method of study, aims at explaining the criterion for meaningfulness of sentences, predicates and individual words as well as explaining this important point and the criterion for meaningfulness of words from psychological point of view.
