Imam Khomeini: Islamic Revolution and Innovativeness

Imam Khomeini (RA), in leading the Islamic Revolution was not afraid of anyone, and by relying on God, he guided the Islamic Revolution until it accomplished its goals. While evaluating the thought of Imam Khomeini (RA) in the field of innovativeness and creativeness, we could divide this study into the following two parts: A) Imam Khomeiniʹs (RA) innovativeness during the course of the Islamic Revolution. B) Thought and the basis of innovativeness in Imam Khomeiniʹs sayings. First Part:(l) Leadership of the Islamic Revolution and accomplishing of its goals are among the abilities and innovativeness exclusive to Imam Khomeini (RA). (2) Concept of Wilayat-e Faqih and establishment of the Islamic government are the main foundations of Islamic belief introduced and practically demonstrated by Imam Khomeini (RA). (3) Unity between Islamic seminaries and universities, which is one of the fundamental principles of the Islamic Revolution. (4) Imam Khomeiniʹs (RA) attention to contemporary issues and social developments and changes, is reflected in his "ijtehad", which is in accordance with these developments. (5) Establishing institutes and organizations, proportional to the needs of the Islamic Revolution. Second Part: Creativeness and innovativeness in the thought of Imam Khomeini (RA) has not been directly discussed, but by reviewing his works (books, decrees and speeches), we come across certain topics, the analysis of which helps us to discover his viewpoints regarding innovativeness. On this basis, the principles of the thoughts of Imam Khomeini (RA) regarding innovativeness and creativeness could be defined as follows: (i) Self-confidence and trust in oneself; (ii) Steadfastness and firmness; (iii) Islamic and humanitarian training; (iv) Trust in God and reliance on the self.
