Computational Methods of Living Standards

This article describes the simple statistical tools, for measuring poverty. Based on the data provided by statistical central of Iran (CSI). the household income and expenditure surveys of 1999/2000. 2000/2001 and of 2001/2002, poverty lines and measures are calculated for Ghazvin province. Poverty indices such as Ginb Head-count.ʹPoverty Gap and Foster-Greer- Thorbeek are obtained, using parameters of a Lorenz curve. Two models of Lorenz curve Beta and General Quadratic (GQ) arc examined. According to the results of this study, the living conditions in the urban area of Ghazvin province is improving. However, there is no progress in the rural areas.
