The Gnostic and Traditional Survivors of The Elders in the 9th Century in Azarbayejan

The invasion of the Monguls and their settlement in Azarbayej an created such a transformation in mysticism that during two following centuries influenced and changed this area in Islamic - Iranian culture. It even provided a change in mystical theological school due to certain events. The attack of Lame Taimour played a great role in these transfonnations.His trinity attacks to Iran and Azarbayejan and the settlement of his successors n those territories as well as the competition of the Turkemans to achieve power in Azarbayejan, though at the beginning it brought an opportunity for mysticism, in some cases, it caused a calamity. For it caused an inhibition for the mystical discussions as well as for the Sufisʹ practical life sty le. In this way, there appeared only a way for Gnostic tendency and mysticism and their separation from the society and from the membership with the groups who seemed to be mystics. Finally, due the the decline of traditional mysticism in Azarbayejan territory, most of the mystics migrated to Anatoli and some of them, as the Muslim warriors were able the achieve their political purposes while their powerful military men contributed to helping the monascetists to access to throne. This article is an attempt to study the mysticism condition in Azarbayejan during the late 9th century, as the last Sufis and their turning away from the basic mystical principles.
