چكيده لاتين :
The purpose of this research was to study of the effect and contribution of motivational factors( self- efficacy, mastery goals, and instrumentality) on cognitive and metacognitive strategies use in learning procecces.
In this study 362 Bushehr high school students were tested. The method of sampling was clustering. Two tests have been used Pintrichʹs scale (2001) for measuring cognitive and metacognitive strategies and the other test was Greeneʹs scale(2004) for measuring motivational factors. The results of the analysis of regression showed that cognitive and metacognitive strategies , were influenced by perceived instrumentality, mastery goals, and self - efficacy.
Additionally, the results indicated that mastery goals were influenced by variations in self- efficacy, and perceived instrumentality. Academic achievement were directly influenced by both cognitived and metacognitive strategies, and by self-efficacy.
Path analysis was conducted to show above relationships. The results were consistent with Elliotʹs model (1999) for assessing achievement predictors and the results of Greeneʹs study (2004) about predicting high school studentsʹ cognitive engagement and achievement.
