Mawlanaʹs Impact on the Mystical Encyclopaedia from the Qajarid Era

The present paper first introduces briefly the significant and unknown Encyclopaedia on gnosticisim entitled ʹOsul al-Fosulʹ va Hosul al-Vosulʹ, compiled by Reza Qoli kan Hedayat. Then it investigates the Mawlanaʹs role in this valuable book which has not been already published. Since Hedayat was a prominent historian of the Qajarid era, his ideas on Mawlana can be important and valuable, from both historical and literary perspectives. Moreover, Hedayatʹs views in ʹOsul al-Fosulʹ can be considered as an important example of the viewpoint of the Qajarid era towards Mawlana and his invaluable works. It is worthnoting that in the above- mentioned book, Hedayat has not only benefited from Samsʹ poetry ʹMasnaviʹ and ʹKolliyatʹ (a comptete Abstracts Name-ye Anjoman 8/3 7 Z. Zandi Moqaddam work) but also in a detailed section dealing with the gnostic sects, introduces ʹMawlaviyyeh sect, which became prevalent after Jalal al-Din Mohammad Balkiʹs rule, In this section, in addition to Mawlana and his life, some information about Mawlanaʹs close friends and relatives has been presented. In the present paper, in addition to introducing Hedayatʹs opinion about Mawlana, the said issues have been criticized from scientific point of view.
