Correlation of some vigor tests with field seedling emergence of Hybrid Corn (CV. SC 704) in summc cropping.

In order to evaluate the seedling germination tests and vigor tests for prediction of corn seedling germination rate in tropical zones a research was carried out on 1381 in Safiabad, Dez:" ʹ research field and central laboratory of seeds analysis of PVR. Seed & Plant Certifier" m Research Institute and figures record and control and certificate of seeds & sapling. In this project the number of 20 seeds lots as a treatment were cultivated in four replications by randomized completely bio k design and after measuring the germination percentage and seedling emergence Indices the yield and yield components were determined at the end of season. In the laboratory, the seeds were put under three prevailing tests for measuring of the corn seeʹs vigor including the electrical conductivity test, compound tension test and controlled deterioration test and some indices related to these tests were calculated by randomized completely design and then the correlation between the results of field and laboratory tests were evaluated and the following result obtained: the electrical conductivity test has a negative correlation with the seedling emergence in the field which can be used for measuring the seedling emergence in the summer cropping of corn.
