Path coefficient Analysis on yield and some yield components in Faba bean

In order to selection of genotypes with high yield, it is very important to identify effectiveness traits on the seed yield in crops. Correlation between traits and path analysis are used for identifying effectiveness traits on yield and determining relations between them. In this study 14 genotypes of Faba bean has selected and planted in randomized complete block design with 3 replications and 11 traits such as: seed yield per plant, 100-seed weight, number of seeds per pod, number of phylum per plant, plant height, number of pods per plant, number of seeds per plant, seed length, seed width, length to width index, harvest index were measured and recorded. Analysis of variance showed that the total of traits had significant deference .The path analysis showed that the number of seeds per plant had the most effectiveness on yield and also the number of pods per plant, harvesting index and 100-seed weight had positive and significant effect on the yield, respectively.
