Simulation of Fluid Flow in Fow Pressure Die Casting by Finite Volume Method.

In this investigation simulation of the 3D fluid flow in low pressure die casting has been carried out. Physical modeling including : fluid flow with free surface, heat transfer, phase change, natural convection, effects of solidification, surface tension, back pressure and entrapment of air on fluid flow. Governing equations have been solved with control volume finite difference method. In order to verify the computational result, som benchmark solution and experiments have been carried out. The comparison between the expected results and the simulation results show good agreement, confirming the accuracy of model.
