Today foundry man are constantly being confronted with challenges to improve their operations and lower costs while at the same time producing higher quality casting one of the ways to achieve lower costs and improve the soundness casting is to incorporate the use of kalpur .
The kalpur direct pouring process is combined use of the feeder sleeve and ceramic foam filter .When molten metal is cast in to a mould , the hottest molten metal is in kalpur, so it can improve the feeding effect and to enable directional solidification.
This paper will discuss fundament of calculations 4"and 6" steel valves . Also paper will show excess of improve m surface quality . Yield in 4" and 6" steel valves sequencely increase 17.1% and 18.8 %and costs will reduce 9.7 % and 13.9 %.
