This report has taken out from a book called " New age of supervision and management in police organization" written by Michael A. Petrillo and Daniel Delbagno. The purpose of this publication is to provide the police supervisor and manager with a basic reference for the study of individual and group behavior and the principles and techniques of applied supervision and management.The leadership, supervision and management are intangible and hard to measure and difficult to describe. However, the supervisor can understand how to motivate subordinates and reach a personal framework 011 supervision and management through applying the content of this book. The realization of peopleʹs behavior is a necessary factor of supervision and management strategies. In this book, the traditional principles of supervision have been analyzed through a critical view which show that the supervision rules are still valid and valuable. The results also review that we had better educate supervisors how to apply these rules in a more effective way in the field of behavioral science and motivation. The correct understanding of supervision rules and peopleʹs behavior reasons as well as efficient use of the supervision strategies help managers reach the needed criteria of supervision in recent years. This book has been based on this fact that each supervisor is able to improve through studying and learning and focuses 011 the personal behaviors expected from a supervisor.
