Acute toxicity of oil Aggregator MBZ 121,122* to rainbow trout

Introduction: The sudden introduction of high concentration of crud oil or products have very toxic effects to human and wildlife esp. some marine organisms. The most part of oil spilled, rapidly spread on the surface of water to make thin layers (slick). Some chemicals (such as surfactants ) are used for removing oil slicks from surface of water. These materials reduce oil -water interfacial tension then accumulated oil layers on surface of waters. However it requires to known more about biological effects of these chemicals on marine environment (esp. toxicology). Method: In this research, oil aggregators MBZ 121,122 that synthesis in Iran , tested for marine acute toxicity (OECD, no. 203).About 500 small fish ( rainbow trout,4-6 gr.) exposed to different concentrations of these chemicals substances in statistical conditions, followed by assaying critical level , and measuring 50 percents lethal concentration at 96- hour (LC-50,96h). Result: LC-50 and M.a.c. value of MBZ 121,122 determined 111.41 (78-145) ,117.53 (82-153) ppm and 11.14,11.75 ppm, respectively . Conclusion: The result shows that MBZ 121,122 are not partially toxic on Rainbow trout (NPT).Meanwhile the comparison of Iranian ones, used for removing oil pollutants with others chemicals( such as 0se-20 and corexit 9527) show the lower and partially same toxicity with the former one to rainbow trout.
