چكيده لاتين :
Learning new concepts requires motivation and attention. One way to help with such motivation and attention is the use of comparative method of teaching as this method connects scientific concepts with everyday life experiences of the learner. To show the advantages of this method, a group of 120 female high school freshmen were divided into two groups, one of which was subjected to the said method in Chemistry class while the traditional method was used with the other in the same subject. A test consisting of open questions was administered to all groups following a teaching course. Results show that the experimental group was significantly superior to the other group and especially in questions requiring higher cognitive skills.
