Reservoir characterization of Jahrum and Sarvak Formations in Kuh-e-Mond, Zagros

The objectives of this study was to evaluate heavy oil reservoir potential of Jahrum and Sarvak Formations to determines water and hydrocarbon saturation, porosity, lithology, permeability and generating a comprehensive petrophysical model to enable complete future reservoir characterization and simulation model. In Jahrum Formation, oil-water contact was defined in 670 m (MD). Based on sensitivity analysis, cut off for water saturation and porosity were calculated 70 and 4 percent respectively. In the Upper Sarvak, three reservoir rock types including wackestone, packstone and grainstone was determined. Cut off for water saturation and porosity were calculated 60 and 4 percent respectively. While, in the Lower Sarvak, four reservoir rock types including bioclast wackestone, pelloidal bioclast packstone, bioclast packstone and grainstone were identified. Calculated cut off for water saturation and porosity were 60 and 4 percent respectively.
