Influence of the Ni4Ti3 precipitates orientation and thermomechanical treatment on stability and rate of two wayshape memory effect in Ni-rich NiTialloy

The two way shape memory effect (TWSME) manifestation in Mi-rich Tini after various regimes of thermomechanical treatment was studied. The stability and rate of TWSME could have been influenced by various parameters. In this investigation, effect of oriented ni4Ti3-precipitates, number of thermal cycling and the value of applied strain during thermomechanical cycles were examined. The orientation of precipitates has an enormous influence on TWSME value. The oriented precipitates lead to higher value of TWSME than non-oriented precipitates. After applying 50 thermomechanical cycles the TWSME is stabilized. In addition, TWSME value was raised sharply by increasing the applied strain up to 3.44%.
