چكيده لاتين :
The effectiveness of cooperative learning relative to the traditional methods of teaching is contingent upon other factors and skills among which engaging in dialogues is prominent. To test this hypothesis, three 5th grade geography classes were selected from among all such classes in one school district in Oroomeeyeh and then randomly assigned to three experimental conditions differing in teaching/learning method. One experimental group, in addition to going through eight 45 minutes sessions of geography teaching, took a three session course on how to engage in dialogue. Although the cooperative learning sessions proved to be more effective than the traditional approach, the additional training in dialogue engagement failed to produce any additional advantage.
