چكيده لاتين :
Data Mining or Knowledge Discovery is a set of techniques by which large sets of data are scrutinized in order to identify any hidden patterns or factors that might affect the phenomenon at hand. One such technique is the decision tree technique which was used with the data bank containing information obtained through employment examinations and subsequent performance evaluations in order to discover factors that affect acceptance and promotion of job applicants. As a result five factors were identified as most effective on the applicantsʹ acceptance and promotion: the written exam score, the points collected at the interview, level of schooling, professional experience, and the province in which the employee works. The same technique can be used in other areas such as education where human resources play a significant role and hence their selection merits more attention.
