Ozbekistan: An Emerging Regional Power

The republic of Uzbekistan as a strong state in Central Asia and the most stable republic in this region has the potential to become an influencial regional power based on its history of governance and Islamic civilization. This republic will determine its fate with closing to or distancing from Russia and global powers- the US and the EU-, adoption of independence or isolation from global and regional affairs. To obtain its goals Uzbekistan requires a convenient strategy and adopting rational domestic and foreign poLicies. The question is that in ease Uzbekistan becomes a great power, is this country able to utilise its geopolitical position to obtain sustainable development?
