Information Technology Acceptance in SME, With Emphasis on the Role of E-readiness Criteria

E-commerce as a sign of information society is a result of IT effects on the different aspects of business. This technology (IT) can have important effect on improving efficiency and effectiveness of business activities. The advantages of applying IT has ted to great efforts for the usage of the technology in different industries in many countries. But, these efforts in most of the countries face main challenges, that despite of high investment in IT by different countries; increasing and penetrating of diverse IT applications is done slowly. In other words, the technology acceptance level is very low. This paper, attempts to study the relation between Technology Acceptance Model together with three criteria of e-readiness assessment (including, current IT infrastructure, cultural training in organization, IT policies) and the acceptance of three technologies (World Wide Web (internet), internal e-mail and external e-mait), as three applicable electronic tools in E-commerce activities. These three mentioned factors have been extracted from E-readiness Assessment Tools and Models. Statistical society consisted of 45 small to medium size enterprises (SME) which are active in IT products and services in Tehran City.
