Changing Strategic directions in Technology and Science System of the Islamic Republic of Iran

Science and technology enjoy strategic and significant position in current world. Forming society concepts and knowledge-based development are evidences of this claim. The conditions of present century show that comprehens-ive progress and advancement of any country undoubtedly depend on formulated planning and program in the fields of science and technology. Because one of the factors of ranking different countries in terms of science and their concerned positions for development is existence of academic centers and their participation in science and knowledge production and citation of scientific findings. So, paying attention to this point is important that for opening new borders in various fields of human knowledge and changing strategic directions in Science and technology system could play important role for removing the problems and deprivations of society. And this duty is one of the most important duties of higher education centers. In this paper, in addition to examining the various dimensions of the issue, the researchers respond to the basic following issue: " What are the changing strategic Directions in the science and technology system of the Islamic Republic of Iran? "
