Istanbul and the Cultural Context of Mesopotamia The investigation of Istanbulʹs role in enlightening Persian-speaker Intellectuals of central Asia in the first two decades of twentieth century

The main purpose of this study was to investigate the cultural effect of Ottomanʹs Mashrooteh Revolution (1908 A.D) along with the effect of Iranʹs Mashrooteh Revolution (1906 A.D) on central Asia which seems to share common historical features with the two mentioned countries, with respect to religious, national and linguistic aspects. The study revealed that Iran and Ottoman, which faced western civilization and modernity in a non-colonial context, had a significant effect on counter-cultural areas in central Asian countries which by then had turned into Russiaʹs colonies. This effect was quite noticeable and unique in the forming of modern Persian literature in the pre-mentioned region.
