An Investigation on the Investment Managers and Financial Analysts Behavior in Market Forecast and Stock Selection in Tehran Stock Exchange

This is the first study in Iran on the behavior of investment managers and financial analysts as to market forecast and stock selection in Tehran stock exchange. Respondent are; bourse trader, investment management and financial analyst of investment company and investment consultant of Iran bank. It is important for national and international investors to acquire a better understanding of how investment professional or analysts in Iran practice their trades. The respondents were asked to rate the relative importance of a number of techniques for stock analysis. There are three major categories of techniques in the survey, namely fundamental analysis, technical analyses and portfolio analysis. Our results indicate that Iran bourse analysts rely more on fundamental and technical analyses and rely less on portfolio analysis.
